Outstanding advantages of SikaGrout® GP
1. Outstanding waterproof performance
SikaGrout® GP is highly rated for its waterproofing capabilities, particularly in preventing the ingress of water and potentially harmful liquids. This makes the product an ideal choice for applications requiring privacy, such as swimming pools, cisterns, toilets and other flooded projects.
2. Flexible and easy to construct
The self-floating ability of SikaGrout® GP facilitates filling or pumping into various openings and structures without the use of special equipment. This is useful in confined or hard-to-reach spaces.
3. Superior adhesion
With excellent adhesion on a variety of construction surfaces such as concrete, steel, brick and stone, SikaGrout® GP ensures a strong bond between the waterproofing layer and the treated surface, preventing accidental peeling and the formation of a non-uniform waterproofing layer.
4. Sustainable waterproofing
With good corrosion resistance and waterproofing, SikaGrout® GP is the perfect choice for environments with high humidity or frequent water exposure. This product ensures the durability of the structure in the long run.
5. Wide range of applications
SikaGrout® GP can be applied in a wide variety of situations, including gap filling, façade creation, member maintenance and repair, foundation base, as well as many other construction applications.
With outstanding advantages, SikaGrout® GP has brought confidence to contractors, architects and investors when facing challenges related to waterproofing and protection of building structures.
Wide range of applications of SikaGrout® GP in waterproofing
SikaGrout® GP is a multi-purpose waterproofing mortar, applied in many different areas of the construction and maintenance industry, to solve problems related to effective waterproofing. Here are some common applications that SikaGrout® GP can fulfill:
1. Fill and inject into the gap
SikaGrout® GP is commonly used to fill gaps and gaps in concrete, brick or stone structures. By doing this, the material helps to increase the structural integrity and prevent the ingress of water and potentially harmful liquids.
2. Creating facades and outdoor facades
With good adhesion on many surfaces, SikaGrout® GP is a good choice for creating facades and outdoor siding. This helps protect the structure from the effects of weather and the environment, increasing the life of the building.
3. Maintenance and repair of concrete structures
In the maintenance and repair of concrete, steel and brick structures, SikaGrout® GP is a trusted friend. This material helps restore water resistance and durability to damaged structures.
4. Making foundations for construction works
When constructing the footing, SikaGrout® GP can be used to create a waterproofing layer under the footing, preventing the ingress of water from the ground.
5. Application in high humidity environment
With the ability to adapt to environments with high humidity or frequent contact with water such as swimming pools, toilets, cisterns and submerged structures, SikaGrout® GP is the ideal choice.
6. Protection of chemical resistant components
Thanks to its waterproofing and chemical resistance, SikaGrout® GP can be applied to protect the structure from the effects of corrosive chemicals.
In short, SikaGrout® GP is a versatile solution to many waterproofing problems in the construction and maintenance sector. With its adaptability and effectiveness in preventing the ingress of water and harmful agents, this material certainly contributes to the sustainability and safety of buildings.
Instructions for implementation with SikaGrout® GP
Step 1: Prepare and mix the material
- Prepare water: Put about 70-80% of the required amount of water (depending on desired flow) and pour into a clean container.
- Add SikaGrout® GP: Gradually add SikaGrout® GP powder to the water tank while stirring. Stir until the mixture becomes homogeneous.
- Achieve desired flow: Continue adding remaining water until desired flow is achieved. Mix the material for about 2-3 minutes at slow speed (up to 500 rpm).
Step 2: Construction
- Remove air bubbles: After mixing, stir gently for a few seconds to remove air bubbles that may be present in the mixture.
- Prepare formwork: Prepare formwork before starting construction.
- Apply grout: When grouting the base plate or pouring block, be sure to maintain pressure at the nozzle to ensure a continuous flow.
- Formwork control: Install the formwork firmly and not let it slip through to avoid overflow of mortar.
- Large area construction: With a large area, arrange the construction order so that the mortar flow is always continuous. Diaphragm, screw or piston pumps can be used to ensure efficient flow.
Step 3: Mortar for large pouring blocks
- Use clean aggregate: For blocks with a thickness of more than 60 mm, use clean aggregate, no clay dust, sieve size ~10 mm, mixed with SikaGrout® GP to reduce heat generation.
- Amount of Aggregate: Do not use more than 1 part of aggregate for each part of SikaGrout® GP powder by weight.
- Use of mixers and pumps: Concrete mixers and pumps can be used. To get rid of air bubbles, create air vents. Use a steel rod or chain to make the grout flow easily.
Step 4: Handling and maintenance
. Curing time: When using formwork, let the mortar pour at least 3 days.
. Curing: After the formwork is removed, use an Antisol® curing compound or an approved method to protect the exterior surface.
Note: Always test before application to ensure good performance and follow safety procedures.
